Navigation
Text navigation
Each of the www.mfss.gov.mt pages has a text navigation section at the right hand side of your screen labelled 'Text Only'. There are no graphical navigation buttons within the no frames environment as they are unnecessary devices which can in many cases be more of a hindrance than a help.
The text links include a description box informing the user where the link will go. This can be viewed by placing the pointer over the line of text.

Every effort has been made to provide equal access to information for everyone, including people with physical disabilities.
This site is in compliance with accessibility standards as well as World Wide Web Consortium markup and accessibility specification. If there is any information you wish to access and are unable to do so, please do contact us.

The website's main navigation may be accessed with the keyboard using access keys. Please refer to your browser for the proper modifier keys to use along with the ones below (typically CTRL+ or ALT+).

Site specification
The www.mfss.gov.mt web site has been designed with all users in mind.
The standard outline guide for the site was for an SVGA resolution monitor (800 x 600) using 256 colours. The site is quite useable with specifications lower than this.
Browser compatibility
The www.mfss.gov.mt web site has been fully tested on a number of browsers on the majority of existing computer operating systems.
www.mfss.gov.mt uses XHTML & Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to format the textual information within each page. Browsers from IE 5.x, Mozilla version 6.x upwards fully understand CSS formatting.
Printing pages
Any page can be printed from the web by the user selecting file, print from the menu option within Microsoft IE or Mozilla or by directly clicking the printer icon at the top right-hand side of each page (content pages only).
Bookmarking pages
To bookmark a particular page the user selects Favorites, Add to Favorites from the menu option within Microsoft IE or Bookmarks, Add Bookmarks in Mozilla or custom shortcut (IE users only)
Searching
To complete a search the user has to enter a word or collection of words into the text search box. Pressing the return key or clicking on the search button will present the user with a listing of documents which correspond to the search details. These results will be rated, the most complete matches will be listed first, decreasing in relevance as the user goes further down the list.
Submitting feedback
www.mfss.gov.mt supplies a feedback form to give users an opportunity to voice their comments on the service.
Once the form has been completed the user must click on the submit button at the bottom of the page. This will forward the information to the info.mfss@gov.mt mailbox. Each query will be electronically acknowledged and acted upon where necessary.
Saving pages
Any page displayed on your browser can be saved to your local drive. Select File, Save as from the menu option within Microsoft IE and Mozilla.
Information
Some pages within the www.mfss.gov.mt service are in other formats other than HTML or XHTML. These are portable document files (pdf). To read these files the user requires Adobe Acrobat Reader software which can be freely downloaded from the Internet.
